This is Dr. Grace.
I was born in Korea and immigrated to United States at age 12. I started my educational experience in the United States from 6th grade at P.S. 110 in New York City. Then, I attended Junior High School 126 in Brooklyn where I graduated as a valedictorian. Then, I attended High School of Performing Arts in Manhattan. This is followed by graduating from New York University with a BA in Psychology and a MA in Counseling Psychology. My last degree was a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, California.
I have spent 31 years of my life working for Los Angeles Unified School District. I worked as a school counselor for 3 years and school psychologist for 28 years. I have also taught introduction to psychology classes at a small college for 7 years. I have since retired and am now at the beginning stage of my next career in life.
As you can see, I have been in the school system all my life, most of it in the United States. I feel I have a unique advantage of having experienced both sides of the school system in the United States, as a student and then as a professional. It is my sincere desire to help parents of children, of all ages, as they navigate through their children's educational career. As a professional having worked in a public school setting as well as having exposure to numerous private schools in and around Los Angeles, I feel I have invaluable wisdom and guidance to offer parents.
Additionally, as a person on the journey of life as an Asian-American, I understand so well the unique and special experiences of being different. I have a genuine heart to help facilitate individuals navigating through life in their unique stories of life.
